Managing Anxiety In An Anxious World

We're aware that anxiety and stress are common in today's world, and I'd like to talk about Healing Touch, a technique used to restore balance and promote calmness. I personally use it often. It's all about finding relaxation, inner peace, and reconnecting with yourself!


Why Healing Touch?

Anxiety today is simply a combination of fear and stress. This is a normal, common emotion. It’s the fight or flight response when stressors are present and you feel under attack. Another way to look at anxiety is think of anxiety as a form of worry, uneasiness, and/or nervousness. Something else important to know about anxiety is that it manifests in your mind AND body. Anxiety shows up in the form of thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations – whether you’re a Highly Sensitive Person or not.

Just before I’m to give a talk in front of a large group my mind can begin racing and I immediately start to feel jittery, fearful, and very stressed. Stories of forgetting what to say, or not being able to connect with everyone can flood my mind to create fear and panic. Now I can usually and quickly recognize these symptoms and intervene with breathing and simple energy techniques. Another huge anxiety trigger is watching the news. This really creates anxiety, fear, stress, and panic. I no longer watch the news. I read the newspaper or abbreviated summaries online and manage to stay calm and detached. HT sessions are a must for me!
